I'm feeling a Bar Mitzvah in the air...

I feel so distant from you my sweet little blog, but the Bar Mitzvah is taking over my life. I am currently making a floor length gown , centerpieces, favors, and a million other little things. I promise after the big event i'll post many many goodies to make up for my lack of posting right now.

Recently i participated in a Jewish Swap on Craftster ( one of my favorite sites). I love doing craft swaps. Make your own invitations! What duh???

I made my son's Bar Mitzvah invitations a 125 of them to be exact. They turned out beautiful but what was i thinking these things took over my life trust me they are still haunting me. I just could not do the cream card stock with the basic info and Tefflin clip art invitation, not for my son. This is such a huge day that truth be told i was happy to make them for him. Here i come centerpieces.....

Duhhh!

I had a duh moment yesterday. I was about to order a bunch of birch branches for my son's Bar Mitzvah centerpieces, and i was thinking about how i will paint the branches gold to stay in the color theme ( black, gold, turquoise)and glue on flowers. Then i had the moment... I have a yard full of branches from the winter when they all fall off the trees, and i collected them in a huge pile all winter ( i was thinking fire wood). I never thought to use these before because they are kinda of gray, but if i'm painting them gold.... Helllooooo free centerpieces. These pics is the idea i'm going for.

Gown???

I need a gown and can not find one i like. What i love is this gown from this amazing etsy shop, but i just don't have a spare $450.
I thought about buying a inexpensive gown and embellishing it myself like the second gown here ( please excuse the bad photo shopping). It's a plain black short sleeved gown. I added the sash and shoulder thingy. Whats a girl to do????
