Purim fun!!! part 1

On Purim there are many Mitzvahs to do but one of my favorite is the Mitzvah of Mishloach Manot. This is a gift that we make for friends and family read more here. I love doing this because it gives me chance to let my creativity shine. This year was a hard one with all that has been going on with Rozie i just thought it wasn't going to happen, but persevered. Working late hours i decided to do something simple and easy, but the results were great! This is a simple project that anyone can do as a gift for a teacher, house warming, even a hostess gift. It can be done with hot chocolate like i did or even the ingredients to make cookies. Bakerella did an amazing job here.
To make a gift jar:
1. Ball canning jars ( found at local grocery very cheap about $8 for a dozen)
2. layer with yummies
3. cut square of fabric and tie on
4. Make a fun label

Hey, I think i will be copying this one this year :)
Can you tell me what you put in the jars? It looks like a layer of hot cocoa, chocolate chips, marshmallows and cookies on the top..is that right? I will probably just use a glass mug from the dollar store.

That is exactly right...cocoa , Chocolate chips, marshmallows and cookies. I actually used ball canning jars and they are very inexpensive any local chain grocery carries them usually where you would find things like matches. I tied them up with fabric and twine and on the twine I attached directions with a spoon. They were a big hit, have fun!

This is amazing! Where did you purchase the fabric and flowers from? I'm assuming a Michael's type of store? Also, did you use a glue gun to attach the flowers? Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Hi Anonymous i most likely purchased the flowers from either Jo-ann fabric or Michaels and maybe even the dollar store, and yes i dropped a bit of hot glue on the lid and glued them on.

What i did to make these...
Layer hot chocolate mix on the bottom, next chocolate chips, then marshmallow, and last cookies. I put a piece of fabric and then screwed the lid on. I used a dab of hot glue and glued the flower on top. I tied it all up with some twine, a home made label and a spoon. Enjoy i hope it works for you!
